Media Spectrum Supports “Concert for Peace”

The music scene in Mönchengladbach set a sign of solidarity with refugees from Ukraine on Saturday (March 12) with its open-air “Concert for Peace” in front of Rheydt City Hall. Almost 20 musicians moved the more than 500 visitors with “Imagine” by John Lennon, the anti-war song “Sag mir, wo die Blumen sind ” and other songs.

The donation boxes set up were well filled after an hour with a total of 5,600 euros. According to the organizer’s wish, the proceeds are intended for refugee aid here in the city.

The concert was an initiative of Günter vom Dorp, who had secured the support of the city from Lord Mayor Felix Heinrichs and further help from Dr. Christoph Hartleb, chairman of Rheydt City Management.

For the good cause, Media Spectrum contributed the complete sound system for the concert, including its technical staff.

On Wednesday afternoon, initiator Günter vom Dorp met on behalf of all participating musicians with Mayor Felix Heinrichs, Dr. Christoph Hartleb, and Melanie Schobel from Media Spectrum at the handover of donations at Abtei Town Hall. The money donated goes in full to the refugee council MG, which specifically cares for individual fates and families with children who have sought refuge here with us and found safety from the war in their homeland. Ute Helene-Becker accepted the check on behalf of the Refugee Council.
