Together with the Comet Cine Center in Mönchengladbach, Media Spectrum has been organizing the Willich drive-in cinema on the Schützenplatz since April 11. On a premium high-resolution LED wall with 14m x 8m, it offers first-class cinema pleasure until at least Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Under the patronage of Mayor Josef Heyes, the drive-in cinema – presented by the Stadtwerke Willich – offers an opportunity for distraction and enjoyment, despite the social distance something nice for Willich citizens. And this responsibly and in strict compliance with all applicable safety requirements and rules of conduct.
The opening performances of “Die Eiskönigin 2″Der Junge muss an die frische Luft” and “Das perfekte Geheimnis” were already well attended and sold out. Midsummer temperatures in the car were easily overcome by the visitors.
Nothing may be sold on site. So visitors are allowed to bring their own drinks, popcorn or chips. According to the homepage, tickets must also be ordered in advance. There is no box office. “A maximum of two adults are allowed in each car – the only exceptions are the children’s performances, where the family household’s own children are admitted,” the rules state. Admission costs 22 euros per car – no matter how many people are in the vehicle.
The success of the drive-in theater – initially initiated by Dirk Schmidt-Enzmann, Managing Director of Media Spectrum – is encouraging. Such joint efforts in times of Corona bring people more than words. We continue.
