Backstage 2016

On 29 and 30 April, many customers, business partners and interested parties were able to take a look behind the scenes of modern event technology at Backstage 2016. In addition to the latest trends from the industry, Media Spectrum also showed innovations for the future and special solutions that caused quite a stir.

A special highlight awaited the visitors directly in the courtyard: an 18-tonne truck suspended in the air. On a specially made suspension, the truck was lifted on a truss construction with the help of eight motors. Also in the courtyard was the brand tower, which, for example, guarantees exhibitors at trade fairs an optimal long-distance effect at heights of up to 25m.

There were also fascinating images in the Old Joinery, which was converted into a cinema. A modern 4K projector from Panasonic of the latest generation with a laser light source provided extremely high-resolution images, which together with a specially designed surround sound system with a total of 12 speakers ensured an impressive experience. Another highlight in the video area was the transparent OLED display, through which one could interact playfully with objects behind it.

Possible applications of augmented reality in the event area were also shown. In the area of lighting, the latest LED spotlights were an important topic – sustainability is at the top of the agenda for all visitors.
